In celebration of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s commitment to the “three E’s” – Engineering, Enforcement, Education – to reduce traffic-related injuries and fatalities on our streets, families from across the city will be gathering on Wednesday, January 1st, 2014, at 10:45 AM to distribute Vision Zero stickers at Park Row and Chambers Street. Look for the yellow and black congratulations balloons and banner. Vision Zero Starts Today!
Update, 1/2/2014: The event went extremely well. The city’s new Transportation Commissioner, Polly Trottenberg, stopped by to introduce herself and emphasize her commitment to this issue. And in the time since, Mayor de Blasio and Police Commissioner William Bratton have made it clear that this is at the top of their agendas.
